19 Making the Most of your Co-op Experience – The Employer Perspective

The purpose of our presentation is to help career educators and co-op practitioners prepare students for the application and interview process as well as how they can help students prepare for their co-op terms. We would like to focus on how employers, students and co-op practitioners can work together to create a successful work term.
The session will help career educators and co-op practitioners understand how they can work together with employers and students to create a positive work term.

 

BIO

Natalie Romero, Linamar Corporation
Natalie is the Campus Recruiter with Linamar Corporation. Natalie has over 15 years of experience in the Human Resources and Recruiting field. Starting her career in the Human Resources consulting field she moved into Corporate Human Resources and is now focusing in Recruitment. She has been with Linamar for a year and a half where her role as a Campus Recruiter, is to hire all Coop Students for each functionality group and manage the relationships between Linamar, the schools and the students. Linamar typically hires between 70-80 coop students each and every term. Natalie has a degree in Languages and Political Science from York University and has a post grad Diploma in Human Resources Management from Sheridan College. In addition Natalie is a certified analyst with the Activity Vector Analysis (AVA).
In her spare time Natalie enjoys writing and her blogs can be found on numerous websites including Huffington Post.
